All the Pieces Have Now Fallen into Place

The final block of Norwegian Epic, number 0898, was lowered into place on June 5 at the STX Europe yard in St. Nazaire (France). The block is 133 feet wide, 113 feet long and 63 feet high, weighing 563 tons. The mast will be fitted next, and that will complete the ship's structure. The ship will be floated out of the building dock on July 11 and taken to the finishing dock.
The block was placed above the bridge and will comprise part of the exclusive Villas section of accommodations. The Villas is a private enclave of 60 exclusive suites located on Decks 16, 17 and 18.

The 153,000-ton vessel is Norwegian Cruise Line's third generation of purpose-built vessels for NCL's Freestyle Cruising. Delivery is scheduled for the end of May 2010.
